About
Well, they keep bugging me to write about myself. I usually think other people are much better judges of us than we are. We lie to ourselves all the time. For example, I look in the mirror and see a thirty something guy not the 53 year old man that others see. I still think I dance pretty well but when ever I do these days my wife gets a little grin on her face. What do you think she is trying to say?
Anyway, as I said I am 53 and live on Vashon Island with my wife Lanae and our Yellow Lab Tucker. We live not right on the water but if you jumped off our deck with enough force you might get your feet wet, if you cleared the road, that is. I work here at an office in my home when I am not out on a job site. It’s pretty nice, actually. I can look out the window over the water towards Tacoma and watch the boats go by.
When I’m not working I spend a lot of time on the water. I row with the Vashon Island Rowing Club three or four mornings a week, and compete in several regattas a year. I even have a few medals and if you are ever over I’ll show them to you. I also love to sail. We own a 60 year old wooden sloop designed by John Alden. Her name is Caprice, and the story goes that the Doctor who originally bought her in the 40’s said it was the only Capricious thing he had ever done. I don’t know if the story is true or not but I love it and I’m sticking with it.
I have two beautiful daughters, Erin and Avery, and two grandchildren, Haley and Oliver. Come over and I’ll show you lots of pictures of them, too. They’re right next to the medals. We see a lot of Erin and the kids, but Avery is in school in Eugene and we only see her when she can get up to Vashon.
There you have it, a little snippet of my life. I’m a pretty lucky fellow and I know it. Let me know your story.
Bob
